On 10th June we held the seminar “SAP Application Management Service: A Sustainable Alternative towards Success”. It was organised in collaboration with Ibermática, one of our members, who are one of the main service companies in the field of Information Technology on the Spanish market.  Their activity focuses on IT consultancy, infrastructure services, the integration of information systems outsourcing and the implantation of integrated solutions for business management.

On this occasion, Guillermo Madina, IT Manager, and Maximiliano Hernán, Business Development Manager for UK and Ireland, were the representatives of Ibermática in attendance for the event. Our Secretary General, Igor Urra, gave a warm welcome to all attendees on behalf of our institution and gave the floor to Guillermo Madina, the speaker for this session.

Our speaker, Guillermo Madina, explaining how Ibermática works.

Guillermo started by providing a brief note on how the company works and how their way of doing business sets them apart from other companies in the sector. He then explained that the main problem of the IT sector in the past was that SAP services were provided from companies established in India, China, and some other Asian countries, in an attempt to get advantage of the low labour costs. That was a big inconvenience for those clients and partners established in Europe because of the time difference.

However, as he highlighted, companies in need of external services demand not only competitive prices, but also quality. In this regard, Guillermo mentioned that Ibermática’s goal is to provide clients with a new way to work, based in four key elements to reach success: Quality, price, expertise and closeness.

Guillermo then moved on to explain that Ibermática’s wide knowledge within the banking, utilities, and services sectors -combined with their international experience in several countries around the world – gives the company the capacity to virtually deal with any situation. In the particular case of doing business with UK companies, the closeness is not just geographical but also cultural, which makes relations easier with the partners and clients.

To conclude the seminar, Guillermo and Maximiliano provided several examples of the solutions that they are currently offering to different British and Spanish companies. At the end of the seminar and after the Q&A, the participants had some time to mingle and discuss about the topics covered during the session while enjoying a delicious breakfast.

We would like to thank all attendees at this event for their active participation as well as the team of Ibermática for sharing their expertise and insights.

Last but not least, we encourage you to keep updated on all the activities of the Spanish Chamber by visiting our UPCOMING EVENTS section.
