The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) pursues the UK’s national interests and tackles global challenges by bringing together the best of Britain’s international effort.
Deepening UK-Spain bilateral relations and supporting the UK’s new relationship with the European Union both fall into the remit of the FCDO, particularly within Policy Coordination & Delivery and International Agreements & Trade. An open dialogue with businesses is essential to deliver this support.
The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK is resolved to facilitate this open dialogue and exchange of ideas between Spanish companies and the UK Government. As such, our next Meliá Business Breakfast of the year will welcome Leo Docherty MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Europe at the FCDO, as its special guest.
The Minister will discuss topics including:
• Deepening the UK-Spain relationship
• Shared global challenges
• The new relationship between the UK and the EU: opportunities
The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, prior to the opportunity to network with other guests over a traditional Spanish breakfast.

About the Minister:
Leo Docherty MP was appointed as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) on 27 October 2022.
He was previously Minister of State for Europe at the FCDO from 7 September 2022 to 27 October 2022. Leo was Minister for Defence People from July to September 2022. He was previously Parliamentary Secretary (Minister for Defence People and Veterans) for the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Defence from April 2021 to July 2022. He has served as the Member of Parliament for Aldershot since 2017.
