The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Spain in Manchester, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Manchester United F.C. and the Old Trafford Regeneration Mayoral Development Corporation, is pleased to continue its engagement in Manchester with an exclusive high-level briefing on the Old Trafford Regeneration Programme, one of the most ambitious urban regeneration projects underway in the United Kingdom.
The Old Trafford Regeneration Programme covers a 370-acre area and represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reshape an entire district of Manchester. The project is expected to deliver over 15,000 new homes, including affordable housing, and generate tens of thousands of jobs across construction, hospitality, retail and professional services, supporting more than 90,000 jobs nationally and contributing over £7 billion annually to the UK economy. Major investment in infrastructure will further enhance connectivity, improving links to Manchester city centre, Salford Quays and Manchester Airport, while supporting sustainable transport, pedestrian-friendly design and cycling routes.
This session will bring together key institutional representatives and project leaders to present the vision, scope and business opportunities linked to the transformation of the Old Trafford area.
The session will be chaired by H.E. The Spanish Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mrs. Emma Aparici, and Mr. Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester. The General Consul of Spain in Manchester, Mr. Alejandro Polanco, will also be in attendance.
During the session, attendees will gain exclusive first-hand insights from leading figures in this project:
- Ms. Karen Hirst, Project Director at the Mayoral Development Corporation, will present the vision for the Old Trafford Regeneration Programme, explaining how the area will be transformed and highlighting the main opportunities this will create for businesses across different sectors, including commercial development, leisure, hospitality, offices, residential, and infrastructure.
- Ms. Collette Roche, CEO of New Stadium Development, will present the plans for the new Old Trafford stadium, their needs and potential synergies of interest for Spanish companies operating in the UK.
This briefing is a valuable opportunity for Spanish companies operating in the UK or considering expansion, to gain a clear understanding of one of the country’s most significant development projects and to explore how they can engage with and contribute to its next phase.
