One more year the Spanish Chamber of Commerce held the Lladró Annual Golden Award on April 25th at the Spanish Embassy in London. This year and for the first time ever the event was named after Lladró, member of our Chamber, which has kindly sponsored this activity and provided the award for the ceremony. We take this opportunity to sincerely thank them for their invaluable support and contribution to the success of this event.
The Annual Golden Award acknowledges a Spanish company in the UK whose performance in the last year has been outstanding. On this occasion, the awarded company was BBVA for their track record and achievements in the UK business market throughout the years. Mr Philip Paddack, COO – UK and Head of Clients – Europe Corporate & Investment Banking from BBVA, received the award on behalf of the company and conveyed his gratitude, expressing also what an important year 2013 is for the bank as it marks the 95th anniversary of the first branch they opened abroad.
The award was presented by H.E. the Ambassador of Spain, Mr. Federico Trillo-Figueroa, who showed his congratulations to the Spanish company. During his speech, the President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, Mr. Javier Fernández, pointed out the relevant role BBVA has played in furthering business relations between Spanish and British markets. Besides, BBVA is one of the oldest members of this institution and has supported the Chamber in many different activities throughout the years.
Guests had the opportunity to exchange comments with Mr. Philip Paddack while enjoying a relaxed but lively evening and a very much expected spring weather. We take this opportunity to thank all attendees for joining us at this activity and also to thank Bodegas Protos, our wine sponsor for the event.
