The UK Government’s new Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) was established in February 2023 and focuses on delivering the security of energy supply, ensuring properly functioning energy markets and seizing the opportunities of net zero to lead the world in new green industries.


Welcoming for the first time a Minister from the newly formed DESNZ, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK invites you to attend its next Meliá Business Breakfast of the year, for which we will be joined by the Rt. Hon. Graham Stuart MP, Minister of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, as its special guest.


The Minister’s main responsibilities include:


·         Energy security, resilience, and preparedness

·         Energy market reform

·         Trade, net zero investment and supply chains

·         International climate and energy policy, including G7/G20 and COP negotiations

·         International climate finance

·         Net Zero Strategy and commitments

·         Green jobs and skills



The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, prior to the opportunity to network with other guests over a traditional Spanish breakfast.

 About the Minister:


Graham Stuart was appointed Minister of State for Energy Security and Net Zero in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on 7 February 2023. He was previously Minister of State in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy from 6 September 2022 to 7 February 2023.

Graham was the Minister of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office from 7 July 2022 to 6 September 2022.

Graham joined the Department for International Trade in January 2018 as Minister for Investment, and he was Minister for Exports from February 2020 until September 2021. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness in 2005.
