The next edition of the Spanish Chamber’s Meliá Business Breakfast series will welcome Sir Chris Bryant MPShadow Minister for Creative Industries & Digital and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Spain, as special guest speaker.

Unlike previous editions, this event will be taking place at the stunning Melía London Kensington.

In conjunction with his role as the Chair of the APPG Spain, as a Shadow Minister for HM’s Official Opposition, Sir Chris Bryant will delve into his respective policy area for the Labour Party’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport, as the Opposition present itself as an alternative government-in-waiting.

The topics covered during his brief will include:

·         UK-Spain Relationship

·         Cultural Exchange with Europe

·         Creative Industries

 

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, prior to the opportunity to network with other guests over a traditional Spanish breakfast by Chamber Benefactor Hispania.

About the Shadow Minister:

Sir Chris Bryant has been the Member of Parliament for Rhondda since 2001. He is currently the Shadow Minister for Creative Industries and Digital and was previously Deputy Leader of the House of Commons and Minister for Europe and Latin America in the last Labour Government.

Prior to entering Parliament he was a priest in the Church of England, serving as a curate in High Wycombe and a youth chaplain in Peterborough diocese and then ran an educational charity, Common Purpose, before becoming Head of European Affairs at the BBC, based in Brussels. He has written several books on parliamentary history and was Chair of the Committee on Standards and Privileges from 2020 to 2023. He has been the Chair for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Spain since 2023, which has the purpose of promoting good relations between the parliaments and peoples of the UK and Spain.

Chris Bryant was the first gay MP to celebrate his civil partnership in the Palace of Westminster.
