Supported by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom and the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, Canning House and Casa de América are partnering once again to deliver the second edition of their joint conference, Wired for Growth: Infrastructure and Energy in Latin America, Spain and the UK.
This high-level, multilateral conference will bring together over 100 leaders from industry, government and academia to explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange across infrastructure and energy markets linking Latin America, Spain and the UK.
Set against a global backdrop of supply chain disruption, rapid digitisation, artificial intelligence, smart cities and the growing need for pragmatic and cost-effective approaches to the energy transition, the three regions offer highly complementary strengths. As ambitious transport and infrastructure projects continue to develop, their success will depend on access to sustainable, secure and reliable energy systems.
Latin America has firmly established itself as a global leader in renewable energy and climate action, a position further reinforced by Brazil’s presidency of COP30 in Belém in November 2025. Spanish and UK companies are playing a key role in this transformation, contributing innovation, expertise and investment to projects that support both the energy transition and the digital economy.
As renewable energy capacity expands, attention is increasingly turning to how ambitious climate objectives can be balanced with economic pragmatism — including the strategic role of oil and gas in meeting rapidly rising electricity demand driven by AI, data centres and digital infrastructure.
Against this backdrop, the conference will focus on two central themes: the impact of digitisation and AI on infrastructure development, and pragmatic approaches to the energy transition that can meet surging demand while supporting sustainable growth. Together, these themes reflect the dual challenge of building smarter, data-driven systems while ensuring a resilient energy backbone capable of sustaining them.
