On the 25th February, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK will be joining forces with its member FI Group, an international consulting company which specialises in the management of R&D tax relief and grants, to bring you a seminar which aims to clear up all of your doubts on the matter under the post-Brexit circumstances.
The seminar will address the following key questions:
- What exactly is R&D tax relief?
Put simply, the definition of R&D for tax purposes is any project that seeks to achieve an advance in science or technology through the resolution of scientific or technological uncertainty.
If you invested in new products or processes in the last 2 years there may be a chance that you are owed money from HMRC, even if the outcome of the project was unsuccessful. The initial part of the seminar will discuss this in further detail, to ensure that you are able to understand fully what you are entitled to.
- How will Brexit affect R&D Tax and How to Claim Post-Brexit?
As is the case in most areas, uncertainty is likely now that UK has left the EU; however R&D could help to establish the UK as a hub of innovation. The removal of the state aid cap could lead to more funds being allocated, and easing of qualification rules could increase competitiveness. This part of the seminar will outline what these changes could mean for you and advise you how to claim this year.
After the presentation you will be able to ask any questions that you may have to the speakers, followed by an opportunity for networking with other guests and the event speakers over a light breakfast.
