The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK is committed to fostering dialogue between its Members and strategic companies and institutions across the UK that may be of interest to our network.

In this regard, and in line with our delocalisation goals, we are pleased to announce a new edition of our Meliá Business Breakfast series, this time taking place in Manchester, in a collaboration with the Spanish Consulate in Manchester.

In this session, to be held on Thursday 29th January at the INNSiDE by Meliá Manchester, we will welcome Mr. Ferrán Soriano, CEO of Manchester City F.C., as our special guest speaker.

Mr. Soriano has been serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Premier League club Manchester City, as well as the New York City FC and the Melbourne City, since 2012. The three clubs are all part of the City Football Group, a global network of clubs owned by the Abu Dhabi United Group, with participation of US and Chinese investors.

Its strategic international presence and the cooperation between clubs makes of the Manchester City FC not only a key player in the football arena, but also in the international business and Institutional spheres, providing new opportunities to Spanish companies based in the UK. 

At this Meliá Business Breakfast, Mr. Ferrán Soriano will share first-hand insights into Manchester City and CFG as a global business and sports platform, including:

About Ferrán Soriano

Born in Barcelona, Ferrán has more than 35 years of business experience in twenty countries, in the industries of football, consumer goods, telecommunications and aviation. Holding executive positions, developing consulting projects, leading entrepreneurial ventures and investing. 

Educated in Barcelona (ESADE), Belgium (UCL) and in the US (RPI, New York) he holds a degree in Business Administration, an MBA and a Doctorate Honoris causa. 

Throughout his career he worked, among others, for consumer goods multinational Reckitt Benckiser, co-founded strategy consulting firm Cluster Consulting (later Diamond Cluster quoted on the NASDAQ) and served as Vice Chairman and CEO at Football Club Barcelona. 

Since 2012, he has served as CEO of City Football Group (CFG), the world’s leading private owner and operator of football clubs. CFG manages 13 clubs across the world and other football related businesses. 

He is the author of a book published in more than ten countries and languages – Goal: The Ball Doesn’t Go In By Chance.

Ferrán is married with two daughters and lives in Manchester (UK).
