Members of our institution are cordially invited to the prestigious celebration of the 2025 Annual Golden Award, hosted by the Ambassador of Spain and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom. From this year on, this award will be known as the Eduardo Barrachina Golden Award, in honour of our late President.
This event is recognised as one of the Chamber’s flagship corporate occasions, honouring the exceptional achievements of a Spanish company operating within the UK market.
This year’s award will be presented to FCC — Spain’s leading construction company, renowned for its expertise in transport infrastructure projects as well as residential and non-residential construction.
FCC, in particular its construction area, ranks as the fourth largest construction company in Spain by contract volume and it’s listed among the top 28 in the world according to the ranking by the international magazine Engineering News-Record (ENR).
With 125 years of combined experience, FCC Group’s infrastructure division operates across 24 countries — including Spain, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, the United Kingdom, and others — covering all areas of engineering and construction.
The award will be received by Mrs. Esther Alcocer Koplowitz, President of FCC Group, during the reception celebrated at the Residence of the Spanish Ambassador.
FCC has been operating in the United Kingdom for over 25 years, establishing itself as one of the country’s leading companies. It has gained experience through major projects such as the N6 and M50 motorways in Ireland, Grangegorman University in Dublin, the Mersey Bridge in Liverpool and the extension of the North Runway at Dublin Airport, among others. As a Spanish construction company, it played an important role in developing the infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympic Games, specifically the IBC.
The company currently has a contract portfolio worth over 2.5 billion euros and is developing projects such as the extension of the A465 motorway in Wales.
