The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom, together with the Ambassador of Spain to the United Kingdom, is honoured to invite members and distinguished guests to the Eduardo Barrachina Golden Award 2026, one of the Chamber’s most distinguished annual events. The award recognises a Spanish company whose leadership, excellence and contribution have strengthened the commercial relationship between Spain and the United Kingdom, while reflecting the innovation, resilience and international outlook of Spanish business.
This year, the Chamber is pleased to honour Damm in recognition of its longstanding business excellence, international success and continued commitment to the UK market. As one of Spain’s leading brewing and beverage companies, Damm has built an international reputation by combining nearly 150 years of heritage with a clear focus on innovation, quality and sustainable growth.
Founded in Barcelona in 1876, Damm will celebrate its 150th anniversary this year. Today, the company operates in more than 130 countries and has established itself as one of Spain’s most recognised international businesses. The United Kingdom is one of Damm’s key international markets, reflecting the company’s long-term investment and confidence in the UK’s food and drink sector.
Last year, Damm announced a £70 million investment to modernise its brewery in Bedford, reinforcing its production capabilities in the UK. The company has also launched an initiative to support businesses and start-ups across the brewing industry, promoting innovation, production and distribution. These investments reflect Damm’s long-term commitment to the UK market and its contribution to strengthening commercial ties between Spain and the United Kingdom.
The award will be received by Mr. Demetrio Carceller Arce, Executive Chairman of Damm, during a reception at the Spanish Ambassador’s Residence, bringing together representatives of the Spanish and British business communities, institutional partners and Chamber members to celebrate this recognition.
