How is gender diversity in companies being affected by the COVID-19 crisis, and what impact could the pandemic have on the challenges already faced by women in the workplace?

Despite nobody knowing for certain what the full extent of the damage of this crisis will be, a further indirect implication could be a furthering of  the challenges and prejudices that women had already been facing professionally. It is for this reason that, now more than ever, promoting gender diversity in organisations is not only the right thing to do, but also makes strong business sense. A diverse workforce is linked with greater levels of innovation, employee retention and customer satisfaction, as well as better decision making and improved financial performance.

For this webinar, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce is delighted to be teaming up with Raquel Barrera, a Diversity & Inclusion consultant and founder of Chamber member Diversitas Institute to give a gender perspective on the COVID-19 crisis. Raquel will be explaining and evaluating the fundamental causes of  gender inequality in the workplace in 2020, the challenges and opportunities that arise in a gender diverse working environment and how the COVID-19 crisis could affect this.

The seminar will address the following key areas:

  • Defining gender diversity.
  • Facts, figures and an  analysis of the current situation regarding women in the workplace in the UK.
  • Key factors which lead to gender inequality at work.
  • The benefits of a gender diverse workplace.
  • The extent of the impact that COVID-19 could have on the present and future situation of women in the workplace.

After the presentation you will have the opportunity to ask Raquel any questions that you may have.

Date: Wednesday 8th April, 11:00-12:00
