Once again hosted by the stunning and newly renovated Meliá White House hotel, patrons of the Chamber, the October edition of the Meliá Business Breakfasts will welcome Nicky Morgan MP, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as its guest speaker. Drawing from her role of having overall responsibility for strategy and policy and for the management of Brexit across the government department, the Secretary of State will give a briefing on the latest Brexit developments and outlook over a light breakfast. This will be followed by an open discussion between all event participants and the opportunity for any questions to be answered.
Biography
The Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP was appointed Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in July 2019.
Having served as Education Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities from July 2014 until July 2016, Nicky then took on the role of an Assistant Whip in the coalition government until her appointment as Economic Secretary to the Treasury in October 2013. She then served as Financial Secretary to the Treasury and Minister for Women from April until July 2014. She was elected Conservative MP for Loughborough in 2010.
