We are delighted to announce that we will be welcoming Alderman William Russell, the Lord Mayor of the City of London, to be the Guest Speaker at the next edition of our Meliá Business Breakfasts series which will take place on the 24th June at 9am..

The Lord Mayor will address the following areas as a part of his speech:

  1. The effects of Brexit on activity in the City of London and how the Lord Mayor expects this to change over the course of this year and following the end of the transition period.
  2. Why the UK (with particular regards to the finance and professional services sectors) should still be an attractive market for foreign investment post-Brexit.
  3. The effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the finance sector, the City and/or the wider UK economy how he predicts that this will evolve in the coming months and years.

There will then be time for participants to ask any questions that they have directly to the Lord Mayor, as well as to Nick Collier who is the Managing Director of the Brussels office of the City of London and who will be joining us for the Q&A part of the session.
