We are pleased to announce that\u00a0our 130th<\/sup>\u00a0Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 14th<\/sup>\u00a0June at the exclusive Merchant Taylors\u2019 Hall,<\/strong>\u00a0located in the heart of the City of London.<\/p>\n

This corporate event is one of the most important activities that the Spanish Chamber organises during the year and it is attended by leading\u00a0representatives from a wide range of British and Spanish companies.\u00a0Following tradition, the event will be\u00a0presided by H.E. the Ambassador of Spain,\u00a0Mr.<\/strong> Carlos Bastarreche Sag\u00fces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. Luis de Guindos, Minister of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness of Spain, will be our Guest of Honour.<\/p><\/div>\n

On this truly special occasion, we are pleased to count on Mr. Luis de Guindos, Minister of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness of Spain as our Guest of Honour<\/strong>, and we would like to take this opportunity to introduce him as well as the Ministry he represents.<\/p>\n

After studying a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Economics and Business at the Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros, with an extraordinary prize upon graduation, Mr. Luis de Guindos has developed his career in both public and private sectors.<\/p>\n

This year the event will be held at Merchant Taylors\u2019 Hall, a truly\u00a0impressive venue.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mr. de Guindos began his professional career in the private sector in AB Asesores as an adviser. Following on from this, he worked in Lehman Brothers Spain and Portugal as CEO, the same position he held for Nomura Securities, prior to becoming responsible for the finance division of PricewaterHouseCoopers.<\/p>\n

Since 2011 Mr. de Guindos has served as Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain, renamed in 2016 Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. He has played an important role in the resolution of the financial and economic crisis, being involved in the negotiations with the EU and the subsequent financial structural reforms of Spain.<\/p>\n
