On the morning of the 26th<\/sup>\u00a0of February the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom presented the I Barometer on the Climate and Outlook for Spanish Investment in the UK.<\/p>\n The event held at the Embassy of Spain in London welcomed the Spanish Minister for Trade,\u00a0Ms. Xiana M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>\u00a0and the British Minister for Investment\u00a0Rt. Hon. Graham Stuart MP<\/strong>. The President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK,\u00a0Mr. Eduardo Barrachina<\/strong>\u00a0and The Ambassador of Spain,\u00a0H.E. Mr. Carlos Bastarreche<\/strong>\u00a0were also in attendance as well as other high-level panellists that analysed and discussed the topic of Spanish investment in the UK.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_gallery _builder_version=\u00bb3.17.6″ gallery_ids=\u00bb10971,10973,10975,10977,10979,10981″ zoom_icon_color=\u00bb#2963ae\u00bb hover_overlay_color=\u00bbrgba(255,255,255,0.9)\u00bb show_title_and_caption=\u00bboff\u00bb show_pagination=\u00bboff\u00bb fullwidth=\u00bbon\u00bb \/][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00bb3.27.3″]<\/p>\n The results in the published report depict that despite the substantial uncertainty surrounding Brexit, interest from Spanish investors in the UK market has not declined significantly since the 2016 referendum.<\/p>\n \u201cTotal Spanish foreign direct investment in the UK totalled at more than 77 bn \u20ac by 2016 and one in every 250 British job is with a Spanish employer\u201d, stated the Rt. Hon. Graham Stuart MP.<\/p>\n The Minister for Trade, Xiana M\u00e9ndez also highlighted that \u201cthe UK has become the third most important destination for Spanish exports of goods and services\u201d.<\/p>\n Moreover, Chamber President, Eduardo Barrachina affirmed that \u201cwe remain committed not only to the enhancement of the bilateral trade and investment relationship between the age of Brexit, the report\u2019s findings show that free trade in goods and services is considered by Spanish companies to be of the utmost importance in the Brexit negotiations, with a view of mitigating the impact on economic relations between Spain and the UK. In line with this, our President had also stated that \u201ctrade has flourished between Spain and Britain for centuries.
